Hubungan Doomscrolling dengan Tingkat Kecemasan pada Remaja di SMPN 01 Dau Kabupaten Malang: Studi Cross-Sectional

Abstract


Excessive doomscrolling among adolescents is currently increasing, and it is predicted to have negative impacts such as anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between doomscrolling and anxiety levels in adolescents at SMPN 01 Dau, Malang Regency. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Of 197 students, 132 adolescents participated in this study and were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Respondents were adolescents in grades VIII A-F at SMPN 01 Dau, Dau District, Malang Regency, attending school, willing to be respondents, and not experiencing severe anxiety. The instruments used were the Doomscrolling Scale and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) questionnaire. Data analysis used the Spearman's rho test. The results show a relationship between doomscrolling and anxiety levels in adolescents, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.556, indicating a moderate to strong relationship strength. Future research is recommended to provide experimental, intervention-based research on doomscrolling prevention.
