Abstract

Indonesia is undergoing an epidemiological transition with a steadily increasing burden of non-communicable diseases, while productive-age groups in campus settings are frequently overlooked by early detection programs for cardiometabolic risk factors. The community service program “CKG Goes to Campus” was organized by Universitas Tarumanagara in collaboration with the West Jakarta Health Office, Grogol Petamburan Primary Health Centre, and Palmerah Primary Health Centre on 18–19 June 2026. The program applied a Plan-Do-Check-Act framework through a tiered service flow comprising registration and a risk-factor questionnaire, anthropometric measurement, blood pressure measurement, point-of-care testing of total cholesterol, blood glucose and uric acid, health counselling, and follow-up recommendations. Data were analyzed descriptively. The activity recruited 606 participants, mean total cholesterol was 189.3 ± 34.3 mg/dL, and 206 participants (34.0%) were hypercholesterolemia; of these, 187 (90.8%) had never been diagnosed previously. Excess weight was found in 361 participants (59.6%), blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg in 134 participants (22.1%), and insufficient physical activity in 422 participants (69.6%). All participants (100%) received individual counselling and 378 participants (62.4%) received follow-up recommendations. This campus-based active screening identified participants with abnormal screening results that had not previously been detected, including 65.7% of those with blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg who had never been diagnosed with hypertension. Changes in participants’ knowledge and behaviour were not measured in this activity and should be evaluated through post-screening follow-up with partner primary health centres.
